Pengembangan Program Otomatisasi Perancangan Die Set Standar Menggunakan Solidworks API Dan VBA

Manual design of die set components in SolidWorks is often time-consuming and repetitive, thus reducing productivity efficiency. This research aims to develop a die set design automation system based on SolidWorks API and Macro Recorder using Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) programming language. The system is designed to automatically generate 3D models of die set components based on parameters taken from Excel files, including part creation, assembly, and document storage. Development is done using the waterfall method which includes system requirements analysis, system design, implementation, and testing. The program, named Die Set Generator, was tested on several versions of SolidWorks and evaluated through technical testing and respondent trials. The evaluation included ease of use, functionality, flexibility, and productivity. The results show that Die Set Generator is able to generate part and assembly models automatically, accurately, and stably on multiple versions of SolidWorks without requiring code modifications. Respondents' assessment of the program was in the "Excellent" category. Compared to previous methods based on SolidWorks built-in features. this API approach is more flexible and scalable, although the execution duration still depends on the specifications of the device used.
